Welcomed To The Good Life
How did I get here? By plane of course! :)
As my plane landed this past Monday in what pop-culture refers to as “Chi Town,” I had no real idea of what to expect. All I knew is that I’d be among some big players in the M&A industry, and this would be considered my debut as my firm’s new president.
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the welcoming I received from the good old boys club. Obviously, this was a business trip. My days were filled with meetings and networking (I won’t bore you with that stuff), but it was the warm hospitality that I received from these Chicagoans that had me enamored.
My most memorable experiences:
- late night taxi ride to Fatso’s Last Stand for a Chicago dog. I’d never had one and I refused to leave without trying one.
- a Cubs game at the infamous Wrigley Field alone was cool enough, but to have arrangements to watch the game from the rooftop of a Brownstone overlooking the entire stadium was even better.
- a day of taking in the Bean, Grand Park Symphony Orchestra, and more around Millennium Park…breath taking.
Great people, great weather, great food, great time…thank you, Chicago!
